Court House Squash & Wellness launches indoor pickleball court to meet growing demand

Hamilton, Bermuda, March 10, 2025 - Court House Squash & Wellness (Court House) is excited to announce the launch of its first pickleball court to meet to the growing demand of pickleball on the island. The fitness facility, spread across two locations, Court House Central and Court House West, has four air-conditioned courts designed for pickleball, squash and pedal.

Court House consulted with the Pickleball Association of Bermuda to gain insight on the layout and player experience on an indoor court. The guidance has helped the club to strengthen its 'Court Only' membership package offering racket sports enthusiasts 24/7 access to climate-controlled courts 7 days a week.

Alison Brook, Court House Squash & Wellness general manager, shared, "Bringing Bermuda's first indoor pickleball court to Court House is a major milestone for us and the island's growing pickleball community. We created a dynamic, year-round space to offer a consistent, high-quality experience for players. This new court not only benefits our members but also strengthens Bermuda's fitness and recreational community."

Pickleball is a popular and fast-growing racket sport, bringing together elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis, and is open to people of all ages and abilities. In Bermuda, there has been an increase in outdoor pickleball courts at private clubs, hotels and the W.E.R. Joell Tennis Stadium Public Courts, but not options for designated indoor courts.  

Liz Schaefer, a current Court House member, has observed that "pickleball has seen an incredible surge in popularity across Bermuda, with players of all ages and abilities taking to the courts. 

"The introduction of an indoor court at Court House Squash & Wellness is a game-changer, allowing for year-round play in a professional and climate-controlled environment. This is an exciting step forward for the sport on the island."

Bee Thurlow, who was recently hired as a member services and operations manager at the fitness facility, is tasked with raising awareness about the pickleball experience at Court House.
