Court House Member Policies

ACCESSING CLUBS  

Check-in 

All members must check in to both clubs using the key access key fob associated with their account profile. No member will gain access to Court House (the Club) without a key fob.   

Good Standing 

Court House reserves the right to prohibit access if a member’s fees are in arrears. The key fob and membership are not transferrable. Any member who assists a non-member to enter either location will have their membership terminated immediately. The loss of a key fob will incur a $20 replacement charge.  

Guests 

As part of the membership, you will be issued four (4) free daily guest passes. All guests must check in at the Member Service Desk at either location between the advertised opening hours. Guests must comply with all applicable Court House policies while accessing and using a club.  


USING CLUBS  

Member Conduct 

Members are expected to act in a respectful and socially acceptable manner while using clubs and should be mindful of other individuals’ physical and personal space. Members shall not engage in behavior or conduct considered harassing, taunting, threatening, abusive, or otherwise acting in an aggressive, unsportsmanlike, indecent or inappropriate towards any member, guest, staff member or other individual. Members shall not behave in a way detrimental to the Club's welfare, administration and reputation. Members shall not damage the Club or any members or staff member by will or neglect.  

Cancellation Due to Misconduct 

Court House reserves the right to remove a member or guest from any club and or revoke, cancel, or suspend the membership if a member commits a serious or repeated breach of the Court House Member Policies or the Terms of Membership and or if the member provides the Club with details which the member knows to be false when applying for membership and the false declaration would have reasonably affected the Club’s decision to grant the Membership.  

Equipment  

Members are expected to always clean up after themselves and be respectful when using Club equipment. This includes the following:  

Return all weights, plates and bars to their allocated places after use. 

Keep noise to a minimum and avoid dropping weights 

Wipe off equipment after use with gym wipes and towels before moving on. 

Be mindful of members who might be waiting and avoiding using cell phones for non-fitness activities while using equipment.  

No Cell Phone and Camera Use in Private Areas

Using cell phones, cameras or any other recording devices in any locker room or bathroom is strictly prohibited. 

Video and Selfie Courtesy

Respect the privacy of others when taking videos or selfies.  Always ensure that other gym members are not in the frame without consent. 

Other Cell Phone and Camera and Video Camera Use 

As a courtesy to other members, you may not speak on your cell phone or utilize any video chat application while on the gym floor and cardio centre. Please set your phone to silent or vibrate to minimize disruptions.  Using cell phones, cameras and other recording devices during group fitness classes is also prohibited. Headphones or earbuds should be used when listening to personal music. If watching videos, please use headphones and be mindful of the content.  Ensure it’s appropriate and not distracting to those around you. 

Food and Drink 

To maintain a clean environment only clear water is permitted on the gym floor, cardio centre, group exercise studios and locker rooms.  No protein powers or additives (such as flavoured drops, electrolytes, or supplements) are allowed to be mixed or consumed.  No food is to be consumed in mentioned area’s. 

Dress Code  

Suitable clothing and athletic footwear must be worn while exercising. No bare chests allowed to maintain a respectful environment and hygiene standards.  Bare feet or socks alone are not allowed on equipment or in workout areas to prevent injuries and maintain cleanliness. Non-marking trainers must be worn on squash courts.  No cycling shoes (cleats) are allowed in the Club other than the Group Cycle areas.  

Towels  

Are not provided at Court House. Members are expected to bring their own towels, including a small towel, for personal use in the gym and to all classes to reduce sweat transfer and to improve hygiene standards.   

Classes  

To avoid injury and ensure proper warm-up, members are advised not to join a class after it has begun. Members should try to avoid leaving the class before it has finished to incorporate the stretch and warm-down routines. Instructors may deny access to members should they come to class late.  

No Outside Trainers 

Use of personal trainers not employed by Court House is prohibited at both locations.  You may not provide personal training services to, or receive personal training services from, any other member or guest, regardless of whether a fee is charged. 

Personal Training, Pilates Reformer and Squash Lesson Payment 

Personal Training, Pilates Reformer and Squash Lessons are only available to active members.  You must pay for sessions on or before the date of the session.  If you use a session that was not otherwise paid for, Court House will charge the credit card on file. 

Session Cancellation Policy 

You may cancel or reschedule your session up to twenty-four (24) hours before the session is due to start.  You will be charged the full cost of the session if you cancel or reschedule with less than twenty-four (24) hours’ prior notice if you fail to show up for your session.  You are not entitled to any refund for or reinstatement of any late-cancelled or missed session. 

Membership Cancellation Policy 

A cancelation request must be provided in writing by email at least 30 days prior to the desired cancellation date. Cancellation requests must be submitted to: [email protected] . A charge of $50 will be applied to the credit card on file if the member key fob is not returned within 30 days of the requested cancellation date. 

Freezing Membership 

Membership can be suspended (“freeze”) twice, totaling, but not exceeding 90 days in a calendar year.  Billing will automatically commence on the given date, unless advised.  All freeze requests must be submitted in writing by email to: [email protected] 

Valuables  

Lockers are provided in the changing rooms for member use whilst training only. Members are not permitted to leave their property at the Club overnight or longer. Any property left overnight or longer will be removed, and the locker's contents will be given to charity if not claimed from the Club within 14 days (2 weeks). The Club will not be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage of any property unless caused by a negligent act or omission of the Company or its employees.  

Lost Property  

Lost property will be cleared, and contents given to charity if not claimed within 14 days    (2 weeks). The Club does not accept responsibility for member property left and or stored on the premises.  

Your Health  

Members are advised not to consume a heavy meal or alcohol before exercising. A thorough warm-up before starting any strenuous exercise is essential. Upon feeling unwell or nauseous while exercising, members should stop immediately and request assistance from a Court House staff member if present. Please be considerate of other members and stay away from the clubs if you are ill.  

Smoking  

No smoking or vaping is permitted in the Club. No beverages or food other than water may be brought into the Club.  

Parking  

If you use Court House West and arrive by car, please ensure that you use the parking bays labelled, A, B and C only located on the road leading up to the building. All other parking lots are private, and parking in unauthorized bays will result in your car being clamped and a $200 fine for the clamp to be removed.  

Court House parking bays are restricted to 90 minutes (1 and a half hours) and are available on a first come first served basis for use while you are working out at the West location only. 

There is no assigned parking for members at Court House Central. 

General Acknowledgement 

The Rules and Regulations contained herein are subject to change sometimes, and Members and Guests of the Club should always familiarize themselves with the current Rules and Regulations in force available on the website. In particular, the Club may amend these Rules and Regulations at any time on reasonable notice to the Members if an amendment would improve the health and safety of the Members or where recommendations of a public body or legislation so require.
